$300 + $40 Seniors No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)
In a field of veteran warhorses, there was a photo finish between six thoroughbreds to determine the winner of the Seniors Event of the Borgata Fall Poker Open.
While many felt it was a dead heat, the official winner was horse trainer Sam Keyrouze (Harrisburg, PA), who nosed out Chris Bourassa (2nd), Chuck Newmark (3rd), Jose Gonzalez (4th), Larry DiGiovanna (5th) and Robert DaCosta (6th).
"It's fun to play the seniors," said Keyrouze, who earned $16,585 and the Borgata trophy, "It's nice to play with guys your own age."
While another great event is in the books, there was a noticeable absence without Borgata legend Mike Sica. "Little Man" passed away a few days before the tournament, which was always one of his favorites.
The field featured many of Mike's peers who played in his honor.
Third place finisher Chuck Newmark summed up the day with a sense of humor that "Little Man" would have appreciated.
"I picked this event because I can't last longer than one day," joked Newmark.
A laugh and a smile is what the Seniors tournament is all about.
