Blinds 15k/30k ante
Larry Wolf (Annapolis, MD)
$3,352
Larry Wolf calls the preflop raise of Anthony Caruso and they see a flop of K♠ J♥ 2♠.
Caruso bets the pot and Wolf tank-calls putting himself at risk.
Wolf: K♥ T♣ 5♥ 3♣
Caruso: A♥ K♣ 10♠ 8♦
Both players have a pair of Kings heading to the last two cards.
Turn: 7♠
River: 6♥
Caruso's Ace kicker is the difference as he knocks out Wolf.
"I wanted the trophy," says a frustrated Wolf who was looking for his second Borgata win.
Wolf, who earns $3,352 for his third place finish, was disappointed on how the cards fell after the dinner break when he lost nearly 200k on two hands to Eddie Blumenthal. Wolf had the second best flush and an under boat to go from chip leader to short stack.
Wolf, who works in IT, won his trophy in a $560 NL event in 2007.
