Day 2 Resumes 12 pm (Blinds 500/1k/100 ante)
Wexler Feeling Good About the Bonus
Jonas Wexler (Southampton, PA) spiked a two-outer to pick up a 180k chip pot that propelled him to the Day 1B chip lead of the Borgata Fall Poker Open and the $3,000 bonus.
"I wasn't 4-betting Ace-King and folding," said Wexler who bagged 222k, but in the pivotal hand needed help against his opponent's pocket Kings.
"He tanked for like five minutes and turned over Kings, I couldn't believe they were staring at me," said Wexler who's a Borgata regular with more than $500,000 in career tournament earnings. "He was on the clock and at the last second, called."
Wexler was drawing thin after Natale Kuey (New York, NY), who called the initial bet, said he folded Ace-King. Wexler hit an Ace on the turn and eliminated his opponent who had nearly 90k.
Second in chips was Anthony Bellino (Palm Beach Garden, FL) whose 203,200 earned him a $1,500 bonus.
Unofficially 215 players finished Day 1B and with 72 finishing Day 1A, the Day 2 returning count is ~287.
Arthur Pro (Dallas, TX) is the overall chip leader with 252k, while Wexler is second.
Play resumes noon Tuesday with the average stack at 65k (65 bb) and blinds going to 500/1k/100 ante.
There were approximately 624 entries which means the top 63 players cash. The official prize pool and payouts will be released Tuesday.
