George Alberto
Chip Leader
The remaining 10 players won't get much sleep as they're on a short break, but they can still dream about playing for the $243,630 first prize. The tournament was stopped when the final table was reached and resumes at 2 pm.
George Alberto (Clifton, NJ) is the chip leader with 13.6 million and said it was a, "very lucky day."
His good fortune came when he cracked Aces in a 12 million chip pot with two tables remaining.
"I didn't think he had Aces," said Alberto after he crippled Kevin Choe (Burke, VA) on a 7-high flop while holding 7 6. Alberto won the 7 million chip pot when another 7 hit the river for his wining trips; Choewas knocked out in 15th place ($9,454).
There will be an overnight draw for final table seats; the average stack is 7.3 million (37 bb), with blinds increasing to 60 minutes each.
