Hsiao 'Sasha' Liu (Lawrenceburg, IN)
$6,635
The heads-up battle finally saw a lead change after a big pot that Liu raised pre-flop. The river was a King and Hal Rotholz took the pot with KK52 (set of Kings). Liu did not show, but said she had flopped a set. After that pot, Hal led with about 850k to Liu's 350k.
They continued to battle, trading pots until another key hand. On the river the board read T T 2 4 Q and Hal bet. Liu thought about it, then called. Hal tabled AQT9 for the full house to scoop the pot.
Liu was left short-stacked and got all-in with AJ75 against Hal's Q332 on a flop of 7 5 4 rainbow. Her two pair was good for half against his low, but then an Ace on the turn gave Hal the wheel and the scoop. River was a useless 2.
Sasha Liu had to settle for second place and $6,635. She's a professional poker player and I expect we'll be seeing more of her in this series.
