Event 1: Ramdin Helps Haiyan Victims

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Blinds 15k/30/4k ante

Ramdin Reaching Out to Those in Need

One of the more successful and classy pros that play at Borgata is Victor Ramdin (Bronx, NY).  After cashing in the opening event, he sent out a tweet that he's donating these winnings to the Philippine victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Ramdin now has $3.75 Million in career tournament earnings, but this cash won't be added to the bankroll.

****11:56 pm Update***

Ramdin's generosity inspired Mike Melkersen (New Market, VA) to do the same:

Event 1: Clockwork Orange

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Blinds: 15k/30k/4 ante

An impromptu color-up break gets a lot of the orange (1k) chips off the table and delays the dinner break restart. The 50 minute level is underway.

Event 1: Dinner Time Numbers

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Play Resumes at 8:40 pm with Level 25: Blinds 15k/30k/4k ante

93 players remain with an average stack of 779k (26 big blinds).

Simon Lam & William Gallagher

The chip lead is too close to call.  Both Simon Lam and William Gallagher have close to 1.8 million (60 big blinds).   They also happen to both be seated at table 5.

Event 2: Back From Dinner Break

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 16: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

Players are back from their dinner break.  Only 57 remain. Average stack is 98k.

Only 36 get paid, so 21 more must go to reach the money.

Event 1: More Big Stacks

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 24: Blinds 12k/24k/3k ante

Players are off on a one hour dinner break.  Play will resume at 8:40 pm.

More Millionaires for the list:

Matt Beier - 1.6 million
Danny Warchol - 1.4 million
George Alberto - 1.3 million

Event 1: Big Stack Roll Call

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 24: Blinds 12k/24k/3k ante

This is the last level before they take a one hour dinner break.

Not guaranteed to include all players over 1 million, but pretty darn close (approximate counts):

Simon Lam - 1.9 million
Dan Wach - 1.8 million
Patti Haggerty - 1.8 million
William Gallagher - 1.65 million
Joe Wertz - 1.4 million
Mark Ioli - 1.3 million
Ted Way - 1.3 million
Dennis Lisovskiy - 1.2 million
Yannis Vitsentzos - 1.2 million
Sean Curtin - 1.2 million
Steven Rodriguez - 1.2 million
Hobart Adkins - 1.1 million

Event 1: Wach Reclaims Lead

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 23: Blinds 10k/20k/3k ante

Dan Wach is back in the lead with ~1.7 million.

Gary Ackerman

Gary Ackerman who started the day with only 72,500, "got lucky" and is up to ~1.5 million.

Mark Sykes

Mark Sykes is also knocking on the door of ~1.5 million.

With 15 tables remaining, they are going to 9-handed play.  135 players remain.

Event 1: Break Time Tweets

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 23: Blinds 10k/20k/3k ante

Jason Young, who started the day as chip leader, has busted out.

Time to check the Tweets from the break:

Event 2: 11 am 90 Proof

$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 12: 1k/2k/300 ante

Thumbs Up for Bozigian's Chip Lead

The 11 am start is grinding down to 90 players (of ~340 entries).  Borgata officials are still calculating the prize pool, but we know 36 players make the money.

The two big stacks are both on table 5 as Gary Bozigian (NYC, via Detroit, MI) is the chip leader with 210k, while Alex Faynkikh (Brooklyn, NY) is at 200k.

Play continues through Level 13 before they stop for a one hour dinner break.

The average stack is 57k (28 bb).

Event 1: Haggerty Hauls A Big One

 $500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 23: Blinds 10k/20k/3k ante

Players are back in action following a ten minute break.

During the previous level:

Pofuk Ying opened early for ~40k and got one caller before Patti Haggerty 3-bet to ~140k.  Back to Ying, who 4-bet another 200k on top.  The caller got out of the way and Patti 5-bet-shoved for 183k more (all-in for ~525k total).

Patti Haggerty v. Pofuk Ying

Ying tanked for a few minutes while a crowd formed around the table.  He eventually decided to fold.  With that pot, Patti chipped up to ~900k.

Event 1: New Big Stacks Emerging

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 22: Blinds 8k/16k/2k ante

As players continue to depart in rapid fashion, some big stacks are building.  Several players are at or over 1 million.

Jason Young has hit a rough patch at his new table, dropping to under 200k.

Looks like Roland Israelashvili may be the chip leader with ~1.4 million.

Russ Dykshteyn

Russ Dykshteyn is close behind with about 1.3 million -- and he's playing OFC on his tablet while accumulating all those chips.

Only 16 tables remain leaving fewer than 160 players still in the hunt.

Event 1: Tweet Outs

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 22: Blinds 8k/16k/2k ante

Players busting and tables breaking as fast as they can move.  Still piling up at the payout desk.

Checking Twitter for departure updates:

Patiently Awaiting Payouts

As expected, the bust-outs are coming quickly now that they're in the money and the players are stacking up at the payout desk waiting to get processed.

The first 50 each earn $1,177.  Among those are

Will 'the Thrill' Failla - 224th

4pm Survivor Underway (Better Late Than Never)

$250 + $30 Survivor No Limit Hold'em (~1 in 10 wins $2,500)

The 4pm Survivor is finally underway, albeit a bit late.  They had to wait for some tables to open up.

Quite a few of the pre-money departures from Event 1 are sitting down for the $250 + $30 NLH Survivor where ~1 in 10 will win $2,500.

It's not a quarter of a million dollars, but what are you gonna do if you're a poker junkie and you've busted out of event 1?

Among those second-chancers are

Wendy Rubin
Frank Reina
Satish Surapaneni
Theen Wey
James Governa

They started with 15k chips and 25 minute levels.

Event 1: Back In Action, Regular Pace

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 21: Blinds 6k/12k/2k ante

Play has resumed with a full 50 minutes on the clock.

250 players remain and are guaranteed to earn at least $1,177.

Now the fight for the top prize of $243,630 begins in earnest.

Event 1: In The Money

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 21: Blinds 6k/12k/2k ante

A round of applause went up when a player busted out and with 26 minutes remaining in level 21, they are passing out tickets to make sure they have an accurate player count of 250.

Jason Young has reclaimed the lead with 1.1 million.

Dan Wach is hot on his heels with ~ 1 million.

Once the player count was confirmed, they announced a 10 minute break.  After the break, they will reset the clock to 50 minutes (still level 21) and resume normal play.

Average stack is 290k.

Event 1: Still Bubbling...

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 21: Blinds 6k/12k/2k ante

Still hand-for-hand on the money bubble.  With 26 tables, it is quite an ordeal to make sure each table has finished before proceeding to the next hand.

 Dan Wach

Looks like Dan Wach has taken the chip lead.  The top three are:

Dan Wach - 900k
Jason Young - 840k
Michael Ahrens - 790k

The blinds have gone up and the clock continues to run.  Once the bubble bursts, they will put half the time spent on hand-for-hand play back on the clock.

Event 1: Bubble Time!

 $500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

The clock was stopped with 8:32 remaining in level 20 to get a solid player count.  252 players remained, so they are now playing hand-for-hand two spots from the money.

Chip counts Tweeted during the break:

Scott Minnick - 578k
Bryan B. - 430k
Chris Leong - 430k
Melissa Burr - almost 700k
Mike Melkersen - 311k
Jonathan Kramer - 230k
Brandon Schaefer - 208k
Eddie Bryant - 183k
Jeff Gurfinkel - 125k
Frank Valgenti - 75k

Event 1: Tweet Outs

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 20: Blinds 5k/10k/1k ante

Players are back from break.  Only 320 remain.

Keep those Tweets coming!  #BFPO

These players have Tweeted their demise today:

Event 1: First To A Million

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 19: Blinds 4k/8k/1k ante

Jason Young

Jason Young started the day as chip leader with 535,000 and after two levels of play, he reports that he's already up to 1 million chips.  He says there were no really big pots, just taking care of business and punishing his opponents.

Tables are breaking rapidly as the short stacks make their stands and bust out.  Only 34 tables remain (340 or fewer players).

They're currently taking a break at the end of level 19.

Event 1: Aces Good For Israelashvili

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 19: Blinds 4k/8k/1k ante

Earlier today:

Roland Israelashvili

After the utg player raised, Roland Israelashvili (middle) made it 25k to play.  The player on his left gave it some thought, checked out the stack of the opener, then 4-bet to 88k.  Action folded back to Roland, who took his time considering, then shoved for 57k more (145k straight).

His opponent made the call with AQ of clubs, only to see that Roland had him crushed with pocket Aces.

The board ran out T 5 2 J 8 with no clubs and Roland doubled up to over 300k.  His opponent was left with only 10k.

Event 1: Early Action

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Level 19: Blinds 4k/8k/1k ante

In early action:

Nick Frangos was all-in with KT suited against a shorter stack holding pocket 9s on a flop of T 3 3.  It was all over when another Ten landed on the turn.  Nicky took the pot, sending his opponent to the rail.

Victor Ramdin

Victor Ramdin was all-in pre-flop for 141k holding pocket Queens.  His opponent had pocket 9s.  The board came T 3 3 7 J and changed nothing.  Victor doubled up to almost 300k.

586 players remain.  250 will get paid, so there's still a long way to go to reach the money.

Payouts have not been finalized yet, but they will be posted here in the blog when ready.

Event 1: Day 2 Underway Shortly

$500 + $60 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

On Hold before Level 17: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

There will be a slight delay in getting underway as the flight 1D players did not get their black 100 chips colored up before bagging last night.  That color-up will have to take place after the bags are opened and before play can begin.
