Championship: Marji Bubbles

$2,500 + $200 Championship Deep Stack Double Play NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 18: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

After Orson Young opened, Jeremy Menard 3-bet, and Melad Marji jammed for ~120k.

Orson folded and Jeremy called.

Melad:  55
Jeremy: AK

An Ace on the flop was enough but another Ace hit the turn and Jeremy made Aces-full on the river for overkill.  He's up to ~700k.

Melad Marji hit the rail in 64th place, becoming this event's bubble-boy.

The final 63 players are now in the money and guaranteed to earn at least $5,123.  Play has returned to normal.

Championship: Wach Bubbles Plus 1

$2,500 + $200 Championship Deep Stack Double Play NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 18: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

 Jeremy Menard

Dan Wach was all-in pre-flop holding pocket Aces.  Jeremy Menard had him covered by about 80k and was holding pocket Queens.

A Queen on the flop sent the pot to Jeremy.  He chipped up to about 550k.

Dan Wach busted out in 65th place, just two from the money.

With 64 players remaining, it is bubble-time.  They are playing hand-for-hand until one more player is eliminated.

Championship: Boffice Doubles

Level 18: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

 Tyng Low

Tyng Low called the all-in of the player on his left in seat 2, while Rob Hanes in seat 3 folded what he says was pocket 7s.

Seat 2: 22
Tyng: 88

Board: Q 6 6 Q 5

Tyng took the pot, busting his opponent in 66th place.  Tyng chipped up to ~330k.

65 players remain, just two spots from the money.

Amnon Filippi is up to ~650k.

TJ Shulman has 617k.

No other player is over 600k.

Pauline Wightman

Pauline Wightman was the last woman in this event and she has busted out.  That's means it is all testosterone from here on.

Jacobs Climbing the Chip Ladder

Larry Jacobs has worked his way from an average stack to start the day to a top 5 chip count.  He was up to 400k, but we wee him pay off a river bet of 15k to his opponent's two pairs to drop back to the 350k range.

Muhammad Abdel-Rahim began with a top 20 stack and is also into the top 5, but has a tough time gauging his chip count.  "I don't know, 320(k)," as he peers over blue (5k) chips stacked 55 high.

After breaking down the stack it was more like 400k.  Abdel-Rahim is currently 2nd overall.

Arthur Pro

Arthur Pro (Dallas, TX) began the day as the chip leader with 252k and has extended his lead by doubling his stack.

On a flop of 7♠ 5x 3♠, Pro bets 20k and his opponent moves all in for nearly 100k total, which Pro snap calls.

Pro: AA (over pair)
Opponent: 5♠ 6♠ (pair of 5s, straight-flush draw)

Turn: 6 (Opponent, two pairs)

River: 7

The paired board gives Pro a higher two pairs to counterfeit his opponent's hand.

On the last break we cross paths with TJ Shulman (Boynton Beach, FL) who tells us how he knocked out 5-time Borgata trophy winner Will "The Thrill" Failla (Commack, NY).

Shulman said Failla came to the table with 90k in chips and raised to 3k in the HJ. Shulman was in one of the blinds and made it 7,500. Shulman said Failla moved all in for his stack and Shulman called.

Shulman: AA
Failla: AK

John D'Agostino says he played it "brilliantly," when his set of 10s beat a set of 5s to add to his chip count.  He's the biggest climber as we're now on the second level of Day 2, up to 285k from his 134k starting stack.

"Let's just play a big pot, and get it over with," he says across the table to Jonas Wexler who began the day second overall at 222k, but is now at 195k.

The other big early mover is Matt Stout who is at 240k after picking up 50k from Anthony Bellino.

Nadel Staying Alive

While a lot of short stacks where on Table 31, which just broke, the opposite is true on Table 9.  Four players have stacks of more than 120k, including Sam Taylor and Cliff Josephy, putting the average stack here at 85k (85 bb).

Feeling the pinch is Eric Nadel (West Orange, NJ) who started the day with 19k (19 bb), but recently got a double-up through Taylor.  "He had 5-6 suited," says Josephy, "the best 6-high you can have."

Nadel, who is wearing a "Dr. Pickle" hoodie, found himself in a pickle against Taylor's KJ, but he gets the double-up and is now at 28k.

Table 11 has even more chips in play to start with an average of 92k. The big stacks are Fernando Diaz (157k) and Norberto Camacho (156k).

As for the shorties on Table 31, Michael Bonita busted and jumped into the 11 am tournament.  Bonita finished runner-up in Event 10 ($660 entry) for $21,000.

Niebling (left) Chip Leader on Table 31

Table 31 is an interesting draw of small stacks that are all in the bottom 30% of the field.

"There are people who have more than the entire table combined," says an astute Jason Deutsch (Staten Island, NY).

The average stack at the table is 22k (22 bb) and totals just 202k; the top 5 returning stacks are all higher than 205k.

Scott Niebling (Cary, NC) sheepishly brags that he's the "big stack" at 41k, but that won't last long.  This table will be the second to break and players are preparing for the worst.
