Mikhail Sher won his first Borgata Open trophy along with $12,550 early Thanksgiving morning. Keith Chin was runner-up, earning $7,394, and Borgata regular Mark Sykes finished 3rd for $4,257.
This tournament began at 11am on Thanksgiving eve and by the time registration closed, there were 231 entries. Total buy-ins came to $46,200 for the final event of the 2013 Borgata Fall Poker Open.
Twenty-seven players earned a cut, but it was Drexel University graduate student Mikhail Sher who earned the lions share. He's studying for his PhD in Operations Management and then plans to go into teaching. He described the field as "tough" but he also says Borgata has the "best tournament action.
